Niko sighed when Aiden said he hadn't seen her. "Nothing's wrong as far as I know. She has a clan to attend to." And that was the truth in the matter. Lately he'd been calling on Featherstream more and more in public so it wasn't to suspicious that he'd done it again now. They'd never told anyone they were together, but he was sure the others had picked up on the fact that they were friends. Hopefully not more.
"I was just wanting to-" a bit of air ran past his nose and Niko sampled it. A light smile came to his lips and he shook his head unbelieving. She was a free spririt like himself in most senses. He should have known. Featherstream's scent was light, but he'd have known it even if it was weeks old. "Never mind."
He gave a nod towards Etheral and moved to sit back where he was at the beginning of the meeting. Closure to Ra and Horjacc. She'd come down when she wanted to.

A wry smile crossed the female's muzzle. 'Yes, well, it seems almost everything has become dull as of recent.'[/i] Her gaze flickered around the clearing, hovering over that area where Luna used to take up. It was rare that anyone would even venture to take the lead Alpha's place... until, that is, Freya came along. It were almost as though that patch of land was sacred in the sense that it held their old half-leader's presence. ... True presence, not that demon ghost that Freya had conjured up. Thinking of whom... there hadn't been much murderous action since the female's disappearance...
'I wonder where the flint for the bon fire went...'[/i] She thought in amusement, referring to the red Alpha. In fact... many of the Alphas had been missing. Really only one bearer of the necklaces remained -Niko. Where was everyone? It seemed as though Charlie left the moment she started something. Wise, perhaps, since no one showed up anymore anyways. Kessie shivered from a sudden cold and frowned. It wasn't even cold. Glancing around, she inched slightly closer to the red male, wondering where that had came from or if it'd just been nerves. ... Probably just nerves.
Her eyes trailed up, glancing momentarily at the stars. Glancing up at the ancestors and lost souls. It pained her to think of Pandion as a 'lost soul', but it was difficult to think of him as an ancestor. Ancestors were older... Pandion had only been young. With an upset sight, the female laid her head down in her paws and stared for a moment at a piece of grass. There was a flicker of light, right in front of her nose, and she had to resist sneezing when a small little creature landed there. Crossing her eyes, Kestrel stared at a small little bug, which left after-images when it suddenly flashed again. Fireflies, fire beetles... They didn't really remind Kestrel anything of fire; rather they reminded her of blinking stars. It brought a small smile on her face. As though it had been a sign from her brother, letting her know he was still there. Lifting her head and giving a small shake, the little bug flew away, blinking its good-bye. 'Good-bye little star,'[/i] she called silently after it.
Her golden eyes glanced over at Ra, and she gave a small smile. ”The stars always feel closer when the moon is full.” She told him, transferring her line of sight from him to the heavens. ”Maybe it is pulling them closer and weakening the barrier...” Goodness she was tired... She frowned and shook her head yet again before sighing. 'Sorry. I guess the pack's beliefs are getting to me...' she chuckled lightly. One couldn't deny it was nice lore though...

Aiden tilted his head when Niko said nevermind. When he sniffed the air, the wind had already changed again. He looked at Niko again to find he had already moved away. He hesitated for a moment, then turned back to Etheral. "Hmmm... It's quieter than usual, don't you think?"

A flicker of a smile crossed the female wolf-cat’s face at the word ‘mate’. Her night was just getting better and better. The response of the loner white male, however, seemed to lean closer towards annoyance. Either way, he quickly changed the subject to Aiden’s sister. Which earned the brown male in question a glance from the female. She didn’t know he had a sister. What other secrets did her ‘mate’ have? She chose to shrug it off, and settled for lying down beside him, her back gently brushing his side.
Soon the white male –Niko- had moved on towards another two wolves, seeming content with whatever had been on his mind. The two were left in silence. Until Aiden spoke; “Hmmm, it’s quieter then usual, don’t you think?” Etheral nodded in agreement, her gaze wandering around the clearing, wondering over the disruption of the usual chaos. Well, certainly there were hardly enough wolves to cause such chaos, and those that had shown up seemed more content to merely melt into their own cliques.
”I’m sure they’ll be along. Then we can have all the ruckus we’ve been missing.” She chuckled, gently bumping her head off his chest.
((I dunno when I'm going to be able to next post, since we're goin on a trip for a bit. Dunno if my Grandpa has internet at his place, and if he does I'm pretty sure it's dial-up [blech, lol] ))

Featherstream slowly started gliding downward, returning her face to the normal wolf state, her pointy ears potruding once more. Then, she flapped higher, then when she got high enough, she pulled back her wings, doing a nose dive. As she fell, she watched as the wolves below got closer and closer. then at the last minute, she spread her wings again, breaking her fall. then, whe she was halfway below the tree level, she began to retract her wings. When she hit the ground, it was as if it weren't a long fall, perhaps five feet. "Hello!" She trotted around the clearing, saw Aiden, then pounced on him and shot over to Niko, acting as if she had been there the entire time.

Iceflame came running in at the exact time Feather pounced on her brother. "That looks like fun!" Iceflame shot off, pouncing on Featherstream, then running to the other side of the clearing like she had come in on that side.

Aiden felt himself get pounced. Normally he would have thought Etheral had pounced him, but the paws were slightly different. "Oomf!" He rolled over, looking up to find Featherstream acting as if she didn't do anything. He jumped up, but stopped as he heard Iceflame's call. "That looks like fun!" Then she did the same thing to Featherstream as Feather did to him. He chuckled. "The joys of youth.... Though i am still young myself." he smirked at Etheral, expecting her to either be beside him or else trying to join the fun.

She grinned at Niko, about to speak, then found herself on the ground. "Aak!" She cried. She stood again, then shook all the dirt off of herself. "Ah haha! Nice shot Iceflame!" She looked at Niko. She snorted, then grabbed at his scruff, still excited. She pulled down, trying to get him on the ground. Then she changed her mind and jumped back, her paws going forward. Then she rolled to the ground, dirtying herself again.

Niko stared at the group in front of him. His first instinct had been aggressive, but seeing it as play he stopped himself. He was a little shocked when his mate reached for him like a pup and than began to roll in the dirt. It was a side of her he didn't see often-joking and playing around.
He glanced wearily at Horjacc, but his curiosity got the better of him. He wanted to see how this vibrant Featherstream acted and besides she'd just issued a challenge. "What do you think you're doing?" He pounced on top of her and bit an ear playfully. "Or better yet what did you think you were doing? No one goes for my neck like that," his voice was teasing, "without some punishment." The last part was spoken in a false dark voice with a growl.

Horjacc perked his ears at the sound of playing and teasing around him. that was... different. He stood again, turned around, then lay down again, watching what was going on. he heard Niko's comment, then thought back to when he was a pup. No, he had never been so carefree, not even then. "It must be a relief to not have to worry about an attack every once and a while," he said quietly. He hadn't moved an inch forward, and had no intention to do so. He prefered it to be quiet at a gathering for once. "Just watch Lucifer. He's craving blood right now." He put his head down, making him look defeated... which he was.

A sudden attack was what had the young female on her paws instantly. Some feathered object had swooped in from above, landing onto Aiden. Her fur was bristling, and her throat was on the verge letting loose a growl. The chuckles and giggles that soon after followed the tackle was what held her at bay. Despite the lack of danger, Etheral’s fur remained bristled.
It wasn’t because she was still shaking off the shock, but rather due to annoyance. As though she felt that tackling Aiden were her job and some female with feathery wings just came by and stole it on her. She gave a small snort and sat back down, gently grooming her fur down with her rough tongue. There was a pause in her grooming, when she was left with her tongue hanging out, just millimeters from her back, and looking up at the brown male as he spoke. Fluidly moving out of her ridiculous stance, Etheral gave a small shrug and a smile. ”You’re older then me.” She teased. Given, there was only a 15 or some odd moon difference between them, but that was still by a year or so.
Her comment was punctuated by her sudden tackle, pinning him to the grass beneath them. She chuckled, gently giving his cheek a lick. ”Old man.” Her light pink rough tongue stuck out playfully, tail flicking side-to-side energetically. For only a moment her icy blue eyes left him, straying over to the female from before to give her a look of slight contempt before glancing back down at Aiden with an innocent grin.

He dipped his head in agreement. “Dull isn’t too terrible, now is it?” He questioned out loud, more rhetorically and to himself than anything else. It was open to answer from Kestrel or anyone for that matter, but no response was expected. Her own question floated through his mind, causing him to chuckle softly. ‘Not here, and that’s all I need to know for now.
He felt her inch closer and frowned. It wasn’t cold, not that he minded the proximity, but he was slightly worried as she peered off again, into the heavens this time. She seemed distant, caught up in her thoughts. Watching her interact with a passing lighting bug, his almost touching eyebrows relaxed and retreated at her explanation, nodding in understanding.
‘No need to apologize, I can feel them al..,’ he blinked, hesitating. “..so..” The problem was, he actually didn’t, and couldn’t. Normally the connection was second nature to him, the fuel to his power, the physical fire to his nature. He hadn’t really noticed before, only having brushed Horjacc’s words away. Powerless.
His lips curled back for a moment, his bullion gaze locked on the demon, starting to rise to his feet. A flurry of feathers stopped him, Featherstream literally falling from the sky and starting a tackling fest. He settled back down, sighing, his fur ruffled from the temporary upset. His eyes flickered to Kestrel and then elsewhere in shame; she would be the one to understand the most, losing something that was a part of him, not the power itself, that he could care less about but his bond to the stars, the something of which he felt as if he actually belonged with; but that didn’t give him the excuse to almost having attacked another wolf and cause an uproar to this unusual happiness and carefreeness occurring.
Shaking his head, he closed his eyes and sighed again. It could wait, and he hoped he would be able to do the same. He opened his eyes, his outward emotions in check, watching the various couples play with void interest.

The sudden tension that rippled through Ra caused Kestrel’s ears to perk up. Her muscles tensed for a moment, body on edge and instinctively seeking out the danger or threat. In a world like the one they had been placed, attacks could come from more places then the teeth and claws of another. This the female knew all too well, considering her ability. With the smallest thought of her ability, then gentle mental connection with Ra tightened slightly. Mind elsewhere, it was unlikely the male noticed, but the female had to consciously loosen the tight hold, else cause uncomfortable pressure inside their minds.
Powers under check, Kestrel followed Ra’s gaze to the white demon, her own fur standing on end. Unlike Ra, she did not raise, though her ears pulled back with a start from the rather sudden entrance of Featherstream. ’Is everything alright?’ She asked him softly, golden eyes turning to him with curiosity. He seemed calmer now, though the underlying tension rolled beneath the connection like lava under the ground. It unsettled her greatly.
Gently, she nudged his side with her nose, and then pushed herself up in a sitting position. Her eyes flickered over to the white male that had seemed to be the upstart of this issue, and slowly the hairs on the scruff of her neck stood on end.

He chuckled, sensing her discomfort at Feather's tackle. "You have met her before, by the way. My sister, Featherstream," -he pointed her out- "is her, the one that just tackled me." He chuckled at this for a moment. Then he could sense uncomfortable thoughts floating from Ra and Kestrel. Looking over, he gently asked Kestrel permission to speak to Ra.

She bit him again. Then she rolled over under him andshoved his leg out from under him. "I'd like to see you try," She challenged in his ear. Her ears perked slightly at Horjacc's words, and she leapt away from Niko, ready to jump away from him at a hint of movement. She noted where Lucifer was glaring from the trees and opted not to go near there.

Niko's mind was further away from Lucifer than he would have ever loved to admit about a predator. For someone who prided himself on being weary-for now he wasn't. His mind was focused on his mate who had just uttered a challenge. One he was determind to meet as he stood there where'd she had been beneath him.
"I won't try to do anything. I'll just do." He lept towards her with two long strides and nipped at her hind leg. "And if we get some privacy tonight," his voice was extremely low so only she could hear. She hadn't told anyone they were already decided mates, and if she didn't than he wanted to make sure they didn't know. But he was a flirt by nature and that was how he was going to be.
"I'll really show you just how bad of a punishment I have planned."

Kestrel's ear twitched when a thought -not her own, nor Ra's- crossed her mind. It was brief, and only flitting. She had to catch it with her mind to finally figure out whose thought it was. Her golden eyes glanced over at Aiden, curious as to why he would ask her permission to speak with Ra. She had no control over the male; they were merely friends.
'Well, are you coming over to talk or not?' Was her simple response. It wasn't rude, but rather laced with mild amusement leaning towards bordom and curiosity. Her tail brushed the ground as she shifted, settling in a different position, eyes never leaving the brown male. Expectation glinted in her pupils, and a brow raised as she waited for him and possibly his mate to make their ways over.

Iceflame's ear twitched in annoyance when no one joined in the game. "Humf... Can't anyone keep a game going right?" Iceflame spotted the cat-like form of Etheral. She had never played with someone cat-like before. She casually walked around the clearing, walking up behind Etheral. then when she was a few yards away, she ran at her, swiping the tip of her tail. "Tag, you're it!" Then she ran strait towards the area Lucifer was, having not heard nor cared for any warning from Horjacc.

Fang had been enjoying watching everyone have a good time. She watched as Feather Pounced on Aiden, then as Icey tackled Feather, and so on. She was listening to Aiden and Etheral when Iceflame attacked Etheral's tail suddenly and sprinted strait for her father. She gasped. "Iceflame! Don't!" She yelled, but it was too late.
____________________________________________________
Lucifer waited until Ice got really close, then leapt at her as Fang let out a warning. he would have to talk to her later. He bit hard into Iceflame's scruff. He felt the blood ooze into his mouth, and shook her. Then he began to toss her away from his spot on the side.

Horjacc watched as Iceflame walked around the side of the clearing, going the opposite direction as Lucifer. He looked away, thinking nothing of it. Then- "Iceflame! Don't!" He jumped around, then, seeing lucifer's teeth close around Iceflame's scruff, he shot towards Lucifer."Lucifer!" He lept at him, tetth bared. He managed to grab on to the side of his face and pry him away from the alpha. He lept back, using Etheral's borrowed powers to turn Lucifer's off. "Never attack an alpha without a direct order from the leaders of the pack!" His fur was raised threateningly, prepared for any attack.
