(Sorry if i didn't post it at the right time. I can't really see the moon phases box.)
Horjacc stalked into the clearing, back to his old self. He was not in a good mood. If anyone had been here already, he might have challenged them to a duel. But no one was here. he snorted. Stupid traditional wolves. Was there really any reason to continue this? no one really shows up on time. Pathetic fools. He growled. Freya was one of them. Why did she give his potition away to HER? He began pacing. And why had he felt so calm? He hadn't even objected! He scraped the ground. Pausing, he looked at the scrape mark. He let out a growl that increased into a snarl. Then he viciously tore at the ground.
Why was the pack targeting him? HIM! He only did what he thought was the best for the pack. And his entire pack was against him! he hit a root, yelped at a sudden pain in his paw, then snapped and bit into the root, almost tearing it from the ground. then he released it. His fur was on end, and loose dirt covered both the ground and his pelt. He shook most of the dirt off, then lay down on his new spot: the center of the clearing. He licked his paw. Freya's power had faded from his grasp. He only had three wolf powers: Energy, Mind Reading, and Etheral's power. he used Energy to heal his paw, but left it so his claw had to grow back. he put his head down, waiting for the pelts of other wolves to approach.

Ra entered the sacred clearing, arriving early in hopes of seeing Kestrel or even Niko for that matter, but only came to find himself alone with one of his least favorite wolves, Horjacc. The last time they had met, the demon wolf had 'borrowed' his power for an amount of time, Ra remembered as he unhappily eyed the multiple tails. The demon himself looked, testy, and the loner took the torn up ground and root as his work. A golden eyebrow raised, but he remained silent, settling in spot away from the other wolf.
Ra was usually one to start something with a smart remark or two, but he felt it best to behave, at least for the time being. It looked as if the demon wanted attention though, having placed himself in the center of the ring. Of course, wasn't that normal for any demon, to crave the spotlight? The red and gold wolf snorted softly, his tail shifting slightly in the sand. He wouldn't speak until spoken to, though there was a good chance he'd just be ignored. It didn't matter to him. He'd just go along with the flow and see where it'd take him, and perhaps maybe, how far he could go before others arrived, hopefully.

Niko walked into the clearing remembering the agreement he'd had with Featherstream. If she came then then everything was going to be out in the open and he wanted to be early to see who was going to show. He grounded his teeth slightly at the sight of Horjacc, but smirked when he saw Ra.
"Well, aren't we a lively bunch?" Truth be told Niko had respect for the two other males and meeting them both here without anyone else was...a treat. Irregardless of Horjacc's ties. "Hey Ra." He turned to the other, "What the ground ever do to you?"
Settling beside the other loner Niko sat down and his tail curled around his feet.

Horjacc spotted Ra's entrance, glaring at the red wolf, daring him to spek. But he said nothing, and instead another wolf, Niko, walked into the clearing. "Well, aren't we a lively bunch?" Horjacc had no reason to reply to that, so instead he merely snorted, turning away. He was not fond of the other two, but they never bothered him, so he had no feelings against them either. "What the ground ever do to you?" He growled, stood, and turned back to the other white wolf, his ears back, his teeth showing. "Do you-" He stopped. He hadn't said anything that he himself probably wouldn't have said. well, perhaps he would have said it differently. He growled, then swiped at the ground. "Nothing. I'm only in a bad mood." He turned away, now looking about for Lucifer, the one assigned to watch him.

((OCC: Sorry it's so short! i was heading to the beach when i wrote this!))
"Very good, Horjacc. You're learning." Lucifer jumped down from the trees above, leaving his daughter to follow. "Of course, you expected me to hear, didn't you?" He stared at him.

Fang only followed, listening to the conversation. She could already tell that this would not end well. Unless, of course, Aiden, Etheral, or Freya came.

Ra met Horjacc's glare coolly, ignoring the dare and not speaking a word. Whatever was wrong with the demon, he wasn't about to let himself be affected by the other's bad mood. They weren't pups anymore, sulking never did anyone any good.
He returned Niko a sly smile as the white loner entered and joined him, dipping his head in greeting before chuckling lightly at his comments. "Nothing. I'm only in a bad mood." Ra shook his head at the demon's response. Nothing was always something and what he had stated was quite obvious.
"My condolences." Were his first words spoken to the tempered warrior. A couple of other wolves soon joined, and Ra's eyes flicked in question and somewhat amusement to what the horned wolf had said. Horjacc seemed to have been expecting the fellow warrior. "A chaperone? No wonder your mood. What have you done to upset mommy dearest?" He asked, his voice calm and polite yet managing to jest at the same time. Mommy dearest referring to none other than Freya, of course.

(OOC: My apologies for the extended absence. My computer died and i just got a new laptop. hard drive crashed.)
Arch awoke sleepily from another "Night" in his warped prison between realms. A deep voice boomed in his ears, causing him to flatten them against his skull. "Your time stolen has been repaid. A peace gathering taken and a peace gathering lost. I release you from your debt." In an instant and without warning Arch was thrust into the world once again as a rift opened and spit him onto the ground between the loners and his pack mates. "Oh bloody hell what an ache in my head." His words were mumbled as he attempted to regain his grasp on up and down. "Could really use a cup of tea." His senses clearing Arch finally registered the last bit of the conversation that he'd heard as he entered the clearing. As well as where he was currently standing. Looking over at the sarcastic loners he smiled politely. "If mommy dearest is referring to Freya, and i do hope its not as that seems a rather rude nickname. Then i believe you've no business in this matter gents." He turned away from the loners and walked past Horjacc, whispering in his ear as he passed. "I know you were doing what you thought was best for the pack. I will speak to Freya if you wish." He now paused to look at Lucifer and smiled as he looked past him at the small pup following behind. "Hullo there Fang."

Lucifer chuckled in amusement. "Oh, that's right, you don't know." Thoroughly enjoying this, he sat down, swishing his three tails, hitting Horjacc purposfully in order to show his superiority. "Well now, how should i put this...?" It was at that precise moment that Arhimedes appeared. Growling in annoyance at the interruption to his revealing, he turned to the offender. "Hello Archemedes. Got bored with you, did they?" His annoyance grew when he spoke to his daughter rather than him. but he turned away just the same, not caring if he spoke again.

Fang's ears perked up. Or... "Arch!" Fang ran towards him, her tail wagging. She skidded to a stop in front of him, but the satchel around her flung her face forward into the ground at his feet. "Omf!" She leapt up again. "I saved your satchel for you!" she looked at it, then brushed the dirt off of it. "I didn't know what some of the herbs were for, though. and the ones i did, i didn't touch." She looked up at him and removed his chance to speak. "I was wondering when you'd be back! You already know what happened after that last gathering. Isn't it cool? Etheral's a higher rank now! though it's only temporary, and it's ashame about the other thing, too, with Horjacc. Oh and isn't it great? Aiden joined or clan!" She perked her ears after saying this, wondering the other two wolves' reactions.

"If mommy dearest is referring to Freya, and i do hope its not as that seems a rather rude nickname. Then i believe you've no business in this matter gents."
Ra snorted. "Rude?" Passing a look Niko's way. "That was being nice, don't you agree? Besides, it'd be far more discourteous in leaving us out, if you want to be technical." His words met the back of the 'British' warrior, big surprise; who was being rude now?
Watching the black pup leap forward to the demon's feet, Ra suppressed a bark of laughter before attentively listening to her spout of sentences. The first have was unbenefical to him, but the second..especially concerning the last part.
He hadn't really known Aiden, finding the other loner distant and strange, but Niko had. Another puff of dust rose as his tail shifted sharply.
"Mm, so another bites the dust off to the dark side." He murmured with a sigh, never would he.

Niko snorted at Horjacc not feeling like smarting back. The other could say what he wanted to at a time like this, but the prescence of this...Lucifer character was something surprising. He narrowed his eye watching the conversation. Mother dearest really, but Ra's comment had him wondering. He'd always thought that Freya and Horjacc got along just fine, what could he have done to make her put him on such a tight leash?
Sizing up Lucifer Niko wasn't sure what to think, but a cool chill went down his spine. There was something about him-sinister that put him on edge. The only thing keeping the situation to a degree of liking for the white wolf was that young female. He'd met her a while back, though he'd long since forgotten her name. With everything that had gone on lately it was no wonder. Whatever Lucifer was going to say was cut off by a new male. Niko's attention focused on thier conversation since Lucifer wasn't going to finish and the last line put his ears back.
"Aiden?" Niko stood. There was no way that Aiden would have joined the clan, Featherstream had said nothing about her brother joining a clan much less those demonic furballs. "Aiden wouldn't join your clan." Niko knew enough about the male wolf and he wouldn't do that to his sister. The silver wolf growled, "He wouldn't do that to Featherstream."

Horjacc bared his teeth at Ra, crouching in warning. Then Arch appeared, interrupting as usual. His ears perked at his entrance, for once, and he listened to Arch's words. Though he had despised the wolf in the past, he suddenly admired his courage. he turned away, but then Horjacc heard Arch speak to him quietly. He blinked, turned to him as he passed, and pondered the words. "That was being nice, don't you agree? Besides, it'd be far more discourteous in leaving us out, if you want to be technical." Horjacc growled in anger, then turned off Ra's power without his knowledge. "You'd do well to hold your tongue. I wouldn't want anything... Bad to happen to you while you were powerless." He turned away, leaving Ra's power off until he chose. He walked strait to Arch. "I would not be happy with myself if i ran from this challenge Freya has given me. Do not say a word to her for the time being," he mumbled. He looked down at Fang, one he normally acted to as if she were air. But of course, Lucifer did that to her all the time. And now he knew what it felt like. Quietly, as he walked past her, he whispered, "Do not falter under Lucifer. You are good for our clan." he walked back to the center of the clearing and sat down, ready for Ra's reply.

Though hearing Horjacc's response, Ra felt Niko rise and followed the suit, ignoring the white demon for a time being. "Perhaps it'd be best to wait until Aiden himself arrives, to get the full story, not these tedious tidbits. There must be some explanation.." Ra tried to reason, not wanting anything rash to happen just on the account a young demon's report. They liked mind games, figuring exactly what one wanted or didn't want to hear. Didn't make it the truth, or give the full story, but then again, there wasn't a way to prove it was an actual lie either. "Wait, Niko." The repeated word a request more so than an order. Loners had no use for rank, they simply worked together to survive.
Ra remained standing, waiting agreement or disagreement from the white loner as he watched Horjacc circle around his fellow members before returning to the center. What Horjacc had said didn't exactly bother him, but it didn't exactly leave him feeling entirely comfortable either. Caution told him to take the words into account and keep silent, but the other half of his instinct was telling him he was being threatened and to act. Internal tug of war, what fun.
"My tongue is being held, by my mouth. It thanks you for being reminded of its function." The red and gold loner returned, his gold eyes watching the other's reaction. "Power doesn't mean everything, it's something extra that's used and becomes abused. I could do well without it, could you?"

Smiling down at the excited pup, Arch chuckled and brushed some dirt from her pelt before taking the satchel back and preparing to brew some tea. Acknowledging Lucifer's comment Arch nodded. "Yes it seems old man time decided a month or two was long enough." He smiled at the torrent of questions coming from fang and raised a paw for her to calm down. "I'm well aware of whats going on though i can't say I'm too pleased with a few of the conditions." He was referring to Lucifer being given dominance over any other wolf, let alone Horjacc. He shook the thought from his mind and smiled. "But Aiden joining is a splendid event indeed! I shall have to congratulate him if the chap decides to turn up for this meeting." It was now that Arch registered another comment from the loners and turned a kind grin to respond. However, he was surprised to find Horjacc respond in his place. He smiled at the thought. "Threats aren't necessary Horjacc. After all this is a peace gathering." As Horjacc passed Arch heard the whispered comments to himself and Fang and nodded to him in respect. "I will refrain if you wish. But please do try not to do anything rash." and with that Arch settled down beside fang and offered her and Lucifer a bowl of his tea. He even pushed a bowl towards the loners should they wish to accept it. He looked up in mild surprise as the loners seemed extremely ruffled by Horjacc's comment. the brightly colored one quipped a sarcastic retort that made Arch raise an eyebrow before shaking his head with a grin. Then however, Ra's next comment sounded far too much like a challenge to Arch's liking. "I'm afraid now is neither the time or place for anyone to be disputing the combat skills of another." He glanced between Ra and Horjacc. He rather hoped that he could maintain the peace. After all Arch still detested fighting.

"HA!" Leaping forward and ignoring Arch, Lucifer took this opportunity to spout the news. "Horjacc HAS no power. He's been demoted to a low-class warrior until such a time Freya says otherwise. Etheral is holding the Beta position at the moment, and she is the second- well, third now, most recent wolf to have joined our clan!" he laughed in spite of himself, waiting for the reactions of the others.

Fang's ears went back. she had suspected this of most wolves. Taking Arch's offer, she stepped forward, towards Niko. "He didn't do it to anyone. Rather, he did it for everyone. He has his own reasons, Niko. You should know that, right?" she hoped he did, but she still thought he and Ra would want to wait for Aiden.

"Lucifer, revealing that not only makes Him look bad, but it also shows that you are worse." Aiden moved from the shadows, into the clearing. "Arch! you are looking well! he has released you from your imprisonment, then? I'm glad to see you are well." He listened to the reply, then turned to Niko, his smile fading. "Hello Niko. You are looking well as well. Is Featherstream alright?"Then his smile returned. "Ha! what am I saying? Of course she's fine. She has you, does she not?" He hoped to avoid starting something, as he knew Niko wouldn't like it. So he turned away again. "Arch! come! i would like to talk about a few things." He walked over to him, passing Fang on the way, beckoning her over to Arch, away from the others, not out of distrust to them, but rather, out of concern that she would end up in the middle of something foul. "Niko! Come here. I would like you to get to know some wolves." He looked up expectantly, but his unease transmitted to Fang and Arch unknowingly. He hoped Niko would listen.

((I am SO sorry I've been taking so long guys. I'm in summer school right now so I don't have to end up in the class room with a bitchy teacher again next year [and, alright, 'cause I love spares], so I've been a bit tied up with all of that lately. I'll try to post more often, but I won't be done for another 2 weeks))
Etheral’s tail flicked a few times. Her nose tested the air, noting subtle differences that were carried to her. On either side of her velvety violet wings billowed, cooling her off as the heat from them was released in the cool night air. This was about one of the only other uses of her wings –a perfect cooling mechanism; the others being more for attack, defence, and show. The black talons glittered dangerously in the moonlight, which was quite contrary to their owner’s own emotions.
She was excited, joyous, and completely ecstatic. Either it was because one could almost feel the energies in the night, or because of her newfound power amongst her clan –sorry, pack- members. Padding into the clearing, Etheral couldn’t help but have a flicker of a jolt when she spotted Aiden. He, however, appeared to be busy with some other wolves. She’d have to wait her turn. Amongst the wolves with Aiden was Archimedes, yet another thing to be glad about with this particular evening.
Stretching slowly to prolong her assessment of the members currently attending, Etheral’s gaze landed on Horjacc. There was a flutter of pity and sorrow towards the wolf, yet it was over-rided by her pride. Sauntering over to him, she lay down by him, her leathery wings fluttering at her sides as though annoyed by the sudden proximity to the ground. Her tail flicked in the usual amused manner, though she didn’t try to flaunt her position this time. Horjacc’s pride was damaged enough, and truth be told, she didn’t want the male to hate her. ”How’s the evening been treating you?” She asked softly. Her talons raked into the ground when her wings folded to her sides.

Had other animals in the forest not been adapted for night-living, then perhaps Kestrel could have travelled unnoticed through the forest; the only possible way to be spotted being through the slight reflection the silvery marks on her gave off under the moon. There was an anxiety creeping in on her with the cool air. Would Ra be there? She’d spotted little of him in the last few meetings, and this worried her. The day he disappeared again would be the day she detested the most.
As it turned out, she wouldn’t have to worry. Lavish had taken off into the clearing, and Kestrel had just caught a glimpse through the bush she was about to part through. There, almost as if he were being framed by the twigs, was Ra. She grinned, and without fully thinking, plunged through the bush, tackling the red male to the ground. ”Ra!” She exclaimed, grinning down at him between her paws. Her tail was wagging, and with a chuckle she climbed off the male. Only lightly did her mind touch his, opening the familiar mental connection.

Ra had sat back on his haunches, eyeing the offered beverage before shaking his head in mannerly refusal. He didn't care too much for herbs, most he found bitter.
"No thank you," Ra said, "and it wasn't a challenge, merely a question. Whether he takes it that way or not, that's his choice." Keeping Horjacc's form in sight, just in case.
Lucifer's outburst caused him contemplation. No power? The wolf still had three tails available, meaning the statement must be referring to position. A low-class warrior. That was amusing, wasn't the other multiple tail wolf a warrior also? How hypocritical. Ra didn't care for the horned wolf; it wasn't his business to tell, even if it was a fellow clan member's, even if he had wanted to know. Horjacc could had said something on the subject or nothing at all and the wolf wouldn't have been pressed any further, at least not by him, on that one matter. However, there was another that hadn't been answered, yet.
Ra watched the black pup step forward, cocking an eat at her attempt in explanation. The loner fought a sigh, that helped some and then none, in a roundabout way. Aiden needed to hurry and show up.
And speak of the devil as the awaited wolf appeared, calling out a few of the wolves to join him, including Niko. "There's your answer." Motioning his head towards the waiting, ah, ex-loner. "Go get him, tiger." Trying to lighten the situation, but not sure if Niko would appreciate the humor.
Ra shifted his paws in the smooth earth, waiting to see if Niko would go to Aiden or not, only to find himself bent forward under another's weight from behind. There was only one wolf that could tackle him, and get away with it. His muzzle parted in a pleased smile at her voice and laughter in his ears. He registered the faint feeling of their minds connecting as he straightened, turning towards her. "That'll never get old for you, will it? Glad your here, things were beginning to get warmed up, and still might be.."
((Enh, it sucks, but it's a post, nonetheless.))

Niko watched Aiden carefully as the wolf came into the clearing. The emotions that spread across his face were puzzling enough and put Niko further on edge. "Your right she does have me," his voice was a low whisper to himself, "but she's just found you." His eye was narrowed as he stared at his secret brother in law. What was he up to?
With a false smile of his own Niko shot Ra an annoyed look as he was tackled by none other than Kestral. "Sure," he voiced towards Aiden following the other male, "I would love to." Who did Aiden want him to meet and why? Either way Niko was going to be damned if he was going to walk away without his answers. This was bigger than just the two of them now.

Post by kestrel on Jul 17, 2010 6:00:18 GMT 10
Kestrel snorted at the voice in her head. ’No, of course not.’ She teased back. Her ears perked up at the mentioning of the meeting getting warmed up. A slight eye-roll was the initial response to it all, but the answer was reinforced by her thoughts, ’When doesn’t it?’ The female’s golden eyes glanced over towards Niko, Aiden, and the other wolves that’d met the two males. Demon wolves; it caused her ears to flatten slightly in worry. With her eyes fixed on the distant wolves, Kestrel absent-mindedly climbed off Ra and sat down beside him.
It took her a moment longer to ignore them, and when she did, her attention went back to being focused on the red and golden wolf. His fur never ceased to amaze her. The colours were just so vibrant that the she-wolf was so easily distracted merely from looking in his direction. She grinned, tail thumping lightly on the ground, and nipped him lightly and playfully. ”Break any hearts lately?” She teased.
Words outside of the mental connection seemed almost fake to her now. They were merely something to place in the muzzle, something that had no true meaning for those that couldn’t feel their meaning. Not sense it –with ears and brain- but really feel it, explore it, dive into it. Sentences and paragraphs became something almost meaningless to Kestrel when she wasn’t actually delving into whom-ever-was-speaking’s mind. Which was why she was really only comfortable speaking out loud if it were against someone (such as Freya, and she didn’t want the other female to hear her thoughts), or if their minds were connected; as hers and Ra’s were.
Such was her reasoning and feelings as she spoke. For as long as she’d known Ra, he hadn’t seemed like much of a heart breaker. Perhaps there was that feeling of teetering loyalty for those that didn’t know him or fully understand the nature of loners. Loners were loners, yes, but that didn’t mean they weren’t loyal to mates, friends, family. If anyone could prove that, it would be the unique loners who –despite not being in a pack (well, that’s kind of the whole point of being a loner)- are still relatively loyal and continually –time after time- return to this place, every full moon. Loners were explorers, curious of the world; they were unsocial; they were extremely social, and therefore couldn’t bare to choose a pack in which to favourite; loners were probably the most diverse and interesting of all wolves. … In Kestrel’s opinion. She missed being a loner, the freedom in it. Being in a pack was not at all what she’d hoped it would be. Even noting the Demon wolves’ arguments and bickering, they seemed more pulled together and an actual working pack compared to some of the others. At least, that was the impression she received the few odd times touching minds with them. Of course, that did nothing to say that they were an over-all nice group to be around.
’So, what have you been up to as of late?’ She asked him, finally connecting her eyes with his –after seeming to have zoned out staring just past his neck.
