This here is just a brief overview of what each rank does in a pack. Also includes lone wolves
ALPHA
The leader/boss of the pack. Makes all the important pack decisions and keeps the pack in line. They are the most dominant wolf of the pack.
BETA
Second in charge, often is left in charge when the alpha is away. The beta are the ones that support their alpha and reinforce the alphas status. Also keeps others in line.
ELDERS
(3 per pack)
These wolves are the oldest of the pack and are past the mating stage. Often provides advice for their alphas, whether or not the alphas listen is up to said alpha. The elders also teach the younger wolves a thing or two.
HEALER
This wolf is like the doctor of the pack. He or she often has extensive knowledge on different ailments and herbs. The healer isn't one for fighting much but will protect their pack when push comes to shove.
WARRIORS
(8 per pack)
Warriors are the main fighters for the pack. These wolves will put their lives on the line for their alpha and beta. These wolves can often be seen hanging close to their superiors and are ready to spring into action at any given moment.
HUNTERS
(5 per pack)
A small group of wolves designated to hunt for the pack. They are the wolves that supply fresh meat to all pack members. They are able to defend themselves but their fighting skills are no where near as good as a warrior.
PEACEKEEPER
(2 per pack)
These wolves are the ones that try and keep peace within the pack although sometimes they don't succeed and thus the pack frustrations are taken out on the omegas. These wolves typically don't like violence but will stand with their pack to defend it.
SCOUTS
(6 per pack)
These wolves are the ones that track and supply information, prey and scents by surveying the territory grounds. They report back to the hunters on where the prey is whilst reporting to the warriors of any danger and provide any and all information they get to the alpha and beta (including the threats they have reported to the warriors). These wolves are usually young wolves just out of puppyhood who are simply wanting to show their strong loyalty to the pack.
GENERAL WOLVES
These wolves make up the bulk of the pack. They look after pups, help teach them as they grow. They also help assist their superiors. These wolves have a variety of skills, some often using them to help make pack life run more smoothly.
PUPS
The next generation of wolves. Pups born in the freelance find it hard to survive their first year, many often dying within a few months of birth. Pups in packs have a better survival rate and are often more knowledgable. Wolves are classified as a pup until they reach 18 moons (1 1/2 years). Pups have their own special hierarchy in them, often the more dominant pup is the pup in charge)
OMEGAS
(2 per pack)
These wolves are the ones that cop the brunt of all the other wolves frustration and anger. Often used as scapegoats, these wolves constantly have the blame shifted onto them. The omegas are often the more submissive type that simply allows this to happen.
LONE WOLVES
These wolves are without a pack, they were either born in the freelands or were kicked out of their former pack. They simply roam the freelands hoping to get by another day without death knocking at their door. Some lone wolves form a small pack together but never really lasts long. Other lone wolves go in search of a pack. The mortality rate of lone wolves are high, often dying from starvation, injuries sustained in a fight or because of the weather.
