Niko walked down a path he hadn't been in a a while with Bram beside him. Still a pup, but older, stronger and hopefully better off for it. His son's power could be horrible and that's why Niko had refused to let Bram near a Peace Gathering.
But keeping a pup away from a gathering forever would bring up suspicions in itself. Niko was known for his paranoia, but not stupidity. The others were aware of his existence and now it was time for Bram's introduction into society.
Perplexed when he reached hallow and empty ground the old white wolf stared up at the moon. He was never first. Didn't want to be, but the woods had grown quiet lately and the streams the only sound at night. His own mate was barely around or his daughter.
He'd been hoping to find them here.
"It's happening again," Niko whispered. He could feel a shift in the wind. One of the oldest wolves around-he knew the signs. This feeling. It was all wrong...something was amiss. Where was the fighters? Healers? Alphas? Hell, Niko would have given anything to see the demon clan. The hair on the back of his neck rose and as it did so did the hair on the back of his son's neck. Niko could tell in his stance that he was making the pup nervous and usually because he could barely control his destructive force that would be a problem. But right now...right now he wasn't so sure his son shouldn't be alarmed.
Bram walked behind his father feeling anxious about meeting the others for the first time. Formally at least. For some reason his father was just paranoid to let him met any other wolf. Bram wasn't sure why. It wasn't like he was much of a threat-not knowing of any powers yet. But his father was just as he always had been-trying to keep him happy and his stress levels down until Bram got really upset about not being able to see a peace gathering.
Then his father's tone had changed and Bram was happy. Happy to met other wolves than his sister to play with.
But when they got there the pup noticed a change in his father that caused him confusion and anxiety. Was this it? Could this be the grounds for a Peace Gathering? "Dad? I don't understand. Where are the others?" The pups eyes shifted back and forth uneasy and his tail flickered between his legs.

Darting from one rock to the other, Kiara bounced happily towards her first peace gathering. She was excited about meeting people not of her pack for the first time. Heck, she was excited about meeting anyone. Lately, things has been slow. Her own pack mates barely showed up, including her own brother Kade. She wondered where he was often. He would sometimes come by, drop off some food for her, then leave again. The young healer would beg to come with him, but he claimed it was safer for her here.
Safety. She didn’t care about it at the time. What she wanted was someone, anyone to talk to. She hated feeling lonely, absolutely hated it. She even tried to look for her friend Kaizer, but she couldn’t find him anywhere either. It was as if everyone disappeared, which scared her to death.
Arriving at the peace gathering brought her hopes up, slightly. What she saw was an old wolf and a pup that smelled like him. She wagged her tail excitedly. She loved pups, absolutely loved them. She was also happy seeing someone from being alone for so long. She walked up slowly towards them and sat before them. “Hello there. I’m Kiara. I’m glad to see other wolves’ faces for a change.” Wasn’t that the truth?

Niko turned towards the new female who approached him and his son. She smelled rather familiar and he let some of his anxiety disappear before it came back ten fold. Just one other wolf? And happy to see other wolves? The grounds used to be crawling with them. What had happened?
Not wanting to upset his son Niko nodded, "It''s nice to see you too." His voice was strained, "My names Niko and this is Bram."
Bram was just happy to see another wolf. He wagged his tail lightly and perked up his ears. He could almost smell his father's senses, but that was just dad to him. Niko was always uptight about something. The old white wolf didn't know how to relax. "Hello."

Iceflame, exhausted for once, limped into the clearing. She gazed with soft and clouded eyes at the three in the clearing. It had been a while since she was last here; she had almost forgotten. "Niko... Bram... it's good... to see you... again..." Iceflame's eyes rolled up into her head, and her bloodstained body crumpled to the smooth ground, which had not been walked on by many for a while. She was sick, and she had fought her way back, but she was alive. But for how long... that was up to the gods. Icey fell deep into sleep, her last thought being spoken; "I'm glad... i got to see... this place... one... more time...."

The former Galaxy Alpha walked slowly down the path she had known growing up when was the last time she had walked down it? Had it always been this steep and rocky? When was the last time she had been to a Gathering? Oh, right, the last time she had been to a Gathering she had been an Alpha. It seemed like a distant dream compared to the life she had to lead now. Did she regret leaving her pack? Yes. Aisu regretted not accepting the offer of staying with them that day but she did not regret not sumbitting to Akuma she still felt bitter. He was still a pup and had no idea what he was doing. She sniffed the air finding no scent of recent wolves present but she walked further.
Amadeus flew high above her knowing that she was lonely for comfort and desperate for food. The hunting lesson with Niko had not gone as well as the bird had hoped for his friend so they had gone without a fresh kill for days and it was beginning to take it's toll on Aisu. Yet she was stronger than she seemed he noticed these last few days as they contuined their search. He looked down as they neared the scared clearing where they had first met and noticed four wolves which he hoped would lighten his savior's mood.
"Aisu! There are four wolves in the clearing." She heard the comforting voice in her mind and smiled at the news. So they were alive. If she had to be angry at them she would at least like to be angry at them while they were alive. The silver she-wolf picked up speed down the rocky path as she ran through the brush and fell snout first into the earth. Picking herself up and shaking she looked over her shoulder and realized that the rock she thought she had tripped over was actually a pup.
Niko's pup. She looked around and was saddened that there were only four wolves. Only four wolves and only one Alpha? Were they all dead? No one was from her late pack except for a pup and by the look on Niko's face the wolves had been scarce for days. Sauntering over toward her parent's respective places she wondered which she should sit on, her father's tree or her mother's rock? ”Ama, which one?” She asked aloud not caring if the others thought her loony for talking to a bird, food in their eyes. She felt the tiny feet rest on her shoulder and smiled at the tickling feeling ”The tree.” He chirped and waited until the wolf rested to continue. ”After all, it’s where we first met.” She heard him say as he snuggled into the tuff on her head the memory making her smile. ”You’re right, Ama.” She smiled remembering all of the good things that had come from this sacred place.
Maybe she could stay here after all.

"ICE!" Niko barked moving forward. The figure that had stumbled into the clearing had caused the old wolf to frown. He hadn't recognized her at first, but as she talked it all came back. It had just been to long and now it looked nearly over.
Standing over her body Niko cursed, "Damn it Ice." He licked some of the blood off of her. "Where's a damn healer?" Niko was engrossed looking over the female hoping for someway to help her, but he was at a loss.
Bram wimpered when th wolf collapsed. He knew Iceflame and this was scary, beyond scary. Seeing another wolf dying was something the young pup hadn't witnessed. His ears went back and he laid down on his belly when someone tripped over him. Glaring up at a new wolf he didn't know Bram was scared and barred his teeth while the grass around him turned yellow.
Niko looked up at another wolf with some relief, he knew her, "Aisu-we have a problem." She seemed in a daze and was talking to herself. Irritated about the situation Niko barked to get her attention. "Alpha!"

Or not.
While she rested peacefully someone decided to get themselves nearly killed and needed help which meant Aisu needed to get her lazy ass up and act like the Alpha she had claimed to be. But the rest was so welcoming and warm that is until Amadeus took it upon himself to get his friend into gear by pecking at her head "Aisu! Get up! Someone needs help!" She wanted to desperately ignore them and pretend they weren't there but when she heard the familar voice of the old loner she knew that even if she tried she couldn't--especially when he called her Alpha.
Half of her wanted to get up just to strike him one for calling her a title she sorely wish she could forget along with the duties it came with. And it he knows that I'm still sore about it. She hissed within her mind Well whether you hate it or not you did claim to be one, a rather good one too. So it's time to be a big wolf now and show them that you are an Alpha even if you don't hold the title anymore. Sometimes she wished that they didn't share a mind connection.
Sighing the former Alpha got up and trotted over toward the two panicking wolves and looked down at the horrible sight of the once happy and hyper Iceflame. What exactly did they want her to do about it? She wasn't a medic and had no such experience in fact she ran from things like this, her power wasn't to heal wolves but destroy them and they expected her to heal her? Were they crazy? I'm not going to let her be my fault. I'm not going to be the cause of her death. There's nothing I can do. She was panicking and had no idea what to do or say.
What did Niko want from her? Didn't he realize that she couldn't do a damn thing but kill people and make them miserable?

The puppy was in her own little world, chatting with Bram when she heard an alarmed bark come from the older make she was talking to. She looked over to where he went to see a wolf on the ground. Oh no... She thought and rushed over towards the female.
She looked her over to see the damage. "I'm a healer," she said to the elder male. She opened the small pack at her side to reveal antidotes and other healing remedies. It appeared the alpha is sick, but from what. She heard her last statement before she passed out into silence. "Oh no Ice."
Digging in her bag, she took out some leaves that would relieve the pain that was going through the wolf. She took out some berries with healing abilities and started to munch on them. She then spitted it out on the open wounds of the she-wolf and licked them into the cuts and sores. She tried her best to be gentle, as she saw the wolf flinch in response. The flinching was a good sign though, it meant that she was still clinging on to life. Kiara flipped her over gently on her other side and mimicked the same gesture.
After she finished, she backed away to give the alpha wolf some room. She looked over at the other concerened wolves and said. "She'll be fine. She just needs time to recuperate. Maybe it won't be a day or two before she wakes up. It depends on how strong she is." She looked the elder male up and down. "Do you think you could take her back to her territory?"

Niko caught the look in Aisu's eyes and knew she was angry at him, but he didn't care. Damn it he needed someone that he knew awake and alert. She was an alpha by birth despite the change in her rank and they needed her to act like it. He needed her to act like it.
Glad but weary there was a healer Niko watched the new wolf until he was satisfied that she'd done her job. He shook his head at her question. "No. She's not going back to her lands. I don't see anyone from her clan and we don't know who did this to her or what for that matter. She's safer here with us where we can keep an eye on her." Niko's voice left no room for discussion.
Bram walked towards his father still anxious, but more so calmed down with his dad by his side. Though the pup would never admit it the older wolf was comforting. "Is she going to be okay?"
Niko turned to his pup and licked his head making sure that Bram was alright, "She'll be fine. Just fine. Why don't you go take a nap by the tree?" Away, far away, from Icy so he wouldn't do much damage. The pup sighed, but knew better than to argue with his father and moved away from the clearing.
"Aisu, do you have any idea of what's going on around here?"

Aisu watched as the medic worked on Iceflame she was somewhat amazed at what the youth was doing. She was only a pup and knew more than her a feeling of shame washed over the silver wolf then, she was an Alpha wasn't she? Damnit, she was an Alpha by birth, her father was an Alpha and yet she couldn't do a thing about an injuried wolf. She looked to Kiara and realized that she was the pup from her old pack, her pack and would still be her pack if she didn't leave. Half of her wanted to ask how they were all doing but after the fight she had with Annibelle and how she refused the offer of staying with them she knew that she couldn't. Aisu couldn't abandon her pride so easily.
Hearing that everything would be okay with the Crystal Alpha she nodded and turned her back to leave until she heard Niko's question. Now what did he want from her? Turning back to face him she tried her hardest to make her eyes seem a little welcoming but found it difficult. "How am I suppose to know?" She countered with a question and a glare and how was she suppose to know? She hadn't gone into pack lands since abandoning the Galaxy pack for good but it was obvious that the wolves were disappearing again.

Black Night strolled the trails about the neutral territory, all the while humming one of his favorite traditional spirit wolf songs his mother taught him before she... No. He couldn't think about that now, now that he picked up the scent of shed blood in the air. He bounded to the source and there from a distance he stood from his crippled alphess, staring. When his brain computed what was happening he rushed to her side, pushing through the strangers, a show of surprise and utter horror painted upon his face. He heard the words the others said, but in a way, he didn't at all. Tears welled up in his eyes as he nudged Iceflame's side, attempting to will her back to consciousness.
As he realized what he had to do, with the help of a healer and some others, he looked up at the others and said, "I believe I need to enter her mind to find out if returning to her body is what she and the ancestors want. If she doesn't want that I'll tell you and there will be no purpose in sustaining her body, it'll just scar her soul. Although, I need a healer to keep her physical system from shutting down or from anyone killing her, because it will kill my body and my soul. And the rest of you can help me by sending good thoughts to the ancestors who are about to take her spirit soon. And while you're at it, uh... Nevermind. I'll handle that." Black Night didn't waste time in his suggestions. He wanted to save his alphess who was like a best friend to him. He and the rest of the pack wouldn't be able to go on without her. She was almost literally their energy fueling them to continue. His intentions and words were sincere to all whom heard him.

The female pup nodded in agreement at the elder dog's words. It saddened her that no one was there to take care of her. It's just further proof that these lands have no one in them. She preened a bit, thinking about her brother and other pack mates.
Speaking of which, she turned her attention to the old alpha of her very clan when Niko asked her a question. Yeah, what is going on around here? Why are all the disappearing? If they were going to that, then she could have continued her loner-ing somewhere else. The whole reason of them joining a pack is to be part of a family. Her reply was a cold one. Was she still mad that Akuma was their new alpha? She couldn't be, she's the one who left them from what she heard.
Just then, a new wolf came into the clearing. He's a bright purple. That color reminded her of someone...oh well. Nothing came to mind immediately. She listened carefully to his words. She didn't get them at first. "Well, wouldn't she already want to come back? Why would anyone not want to come back to life." He said he needed an healer. She would volunteer, but she didn't know anything about the spirit world. "This is all confusing."

Swallowing numbly, Kaizer walked the beaten and traveled path on auto pilot. He was still in shock. His usual cheery and flirtatious demeanor was absent as his brain struggled to comprehend what his eyes had witnessed. Staring ahead with a blank expression, The young wolf walked the path to the sacred grounds that had once held so many peace gatherings. He wasn't conscious of it, but some part of him had brought him here in the desperate hope of finding another wolf. Someone, anyone that might solidify things for him. He swallowed another lump in his throat as a cold feeling gripped his heart. Slow comprehension was dawning on him as he entered a clearing. Lost in his own world, Kaizer almost failed to notice that there were in fact other wolves present in the area. Now he gazed around at the clearing and took in the forms of the present wolves.
Staring for a moment, Kaizer's mind worked feverishly until he found names to place with faces. There was his friend Kiara. The galaxy pack healer seemed preoccupied with a wolf lying in the earth. A wolf he recognized soon to be the crystal alpha Iceflame. A spark of alarm shot through his mind. Had the same thing happened to her? The same thing that happened to... His mind went numb and his body shivered. He didn't understand how, or why. He'd promised.... When he was a pup he'd promised him. He'd never leave him alone. Kaizer shut his eyes tight against the stinging of his eyes. Forcing the emotions down, Kaizer opened his eyes to continue scanning the scant crowd of wolves present. His eyes took in four more wolves. Aisu, the former galaxy alpha. 'Maybe the alpha again soon.' He thought bitterly. A purple wolf he recognized as that annoying wolf the older ones didn't like. A puppy he didn't know, and next to the puppy... Niko. The closest thing to an uncle he'd ever had. His fathers best friend. If anyone could help him right now it was Niko.
However, Now may not have been the best time to bring this new problem. Seeing as Iceflame seemed to be near death. If Kaizer were in his right mind set, he may have taken this into consideration before rushing across the clearing toward the one eyed loner. "Niko!" His eyes burned with the sting of suppressed tears being released. "He's gone..." The young Loner collapsed at his foster uncle's side. Not from exhaustion or injury, but from anguish. "He broke his promise." The wolf said in a defeated tone. "He left me alone." Kaizer looked up from the ground at Niko. After several seconds of silence. He finally said the words. Setting in stone the thing that he was trying so hard to make untrue. The words that meant the end of so much for the young wolf. "Father is dead." His voice was numb and choked. "Shadow is gone."

Niko glared back at Aisu, "No one knows what's going on. It was a simple question now swallow whatever is wrong with you and lets get back to the problem at hand." He watched a wolf he didn't know come to Icy's side and offer a suggestion. Since they had nothing to go on Niko kept quiet and let the others decide what was going on. He had a pup to worry about himself and Bram could be a huge threat to the injured wolf.
Going to his confused son Niko sat down and nudged him lightly. Almost immediately he felt his stomach turn, but his son was doing a good job. "It's alright Bram. We're going to figure this out." Niko gave his son a genlte touch and his stomachach faded.
His anxiety however never faltered as Kaizer ran at him, "Kaizer calm down." The pup finally did and his news rocked Niko's head for a moment. Shadow? One of the older loners had died? No, no wait. "Kaizer calm down. You didn't see Shadow die did you?" Niko pressed his head against the pups in comfort. "Are you sure your not lost?" He smiled, but it was strained weary of an answer.
Bram jumped up at the pup beside his father with raised eyes. Excitment ran through his system, not the good excitment, but excitment that had his blood pumping. He didn't feel threatened so he didn't release any of his power, but he was curious. Who was this Kaizer? And Shadow? He knew his father nearly led a double life, but this was getting to much for the young pup. He almost said something, but seeing how upset Kaizer was Bram decided against it and let the young male steal his father for comfort.

"Then why ask me?" She growled bitterly as she turned tail and went back to Amadeus watching the three wolves debate over Iceflame. Aisu listened carefully to what Black Knight was saying and scowled at his idea, go into her body? That was more risky than just letting her rest. The healer pup stated that she would be fine so why go into her body? "That's a foolish idea." she growled from her spot, even if she didn't care Aisu didn't want anything destructive happen in this sacred land but obviously it was too late for thoughts like that. Then she noticed a pup walk into the Gathering she reconginzed him and blinked wondering why his father wasn't with him, clearly the pup was in distress and it made her on edge in both worry and annoyance.
Aisu, go check it out. Why should I? Because you know what he's been through.
Sometimes Amadeus was more like a father than a companion sighing she listened and got back up walking over toward Niko and the distressed Kaizer. Aisu stopped mid way however as she heard what had caused the pup to be in such a state and her heart broke, Shadow was dead? That couldn't be. He had been fine the last she saw him then again the last she saw him he had been at her den claiming he had killed one of her pack mates. She wondered if Kestrel heard the news but shook the thought from her head that wasn't any of her concern.

"You best know what you're getting yourself into, sugar. These are new lands with new wolves, we don't know them and they don't know us so that means danger."
"I know Big Mama. But that also means we can get new information. Figure things out around here and cause a little mischief."
The bird could tell by the grin on Niyol's face that he was as serious as a heart attack and that the mischief he intended to get into wasn't anything to laugh about. Odin sighed with worry "I swear to the high heavens, one day you're gonna git into trouble and I won't be able to help you." She warned which she knew would get on his nerves but if it saved him from being killed one day then so be it.
"Okay, I get it. I'm just trying to have a little fun." The ginger male scowled as he walked down the path he had never been on but had heard of as a pup from his mother. She had told him of Gatherings she used to attend in these lands but it sounded boring to him, it still did but now he was older and could go on his own. He just hoped that they weren't as boring as his mother described. The path was rocky and steep and the pressure hurt his paw pads as he walked making him wince and limp slightly but he could sense that it wasn't too far.
"We're almost there, honey! Just a little further." Odin called from father up the path but it didn't offer much comfort to him or make him go any faster. As much as he wanted to have a little fun he didn't want to see wolves who had been here probably long before he was born, ones who knew these lands and would criticized him. Not like he couldn't handle it if they did however, a small smirk rose on his muzzle as he passed through a row of pine trees and crawled under a brush before he stopped in his tracks as he stared at the wolves present. Why were there so few?
"Niyol! Over this way sugar! I'm over here!"
How humiliating. Like a teenager who was embarrassed to see his mother trying to act cool at a concert that was clearly for teenagers only Niyol tried his hardest to pretend he didn't hear the owl. But since it was Odin that was an impossible task and the air controlling wolf sauntered over toward the tree where his feathered mother sat. How could he possibly get information and cause a little mayhem if his "mother" was always watching him?
Okay, now he sounded like a little kid. Great.
Much to Niyol's satisfaction and dissatisfaction no one seemed to notice his humiliating entrance. That was good. Now hopefully Odin wouldn't cause too much ruckus while he maneuvered through the wolves.

Still thinking about what the purple wolf stated, her thoughts were interrupted when Kaizer came into the clearing. Her small-swishy tail wagged back and forth in excitement. She hasn't seen her friend in what felt like ages. Now that he's here, they can pla-
Wait a minute. He doesn't look so great. He's...sad and withdrawn. Her ears perked up in worry. Has something happened to him? Where's his father? She gasped. That must be it. Those two are nearly inseparable. She looked back at the Crystal Pack leader. She looked alright. No medical attention was needed right now.
She walked slowly and carefully towards the young wolf. With her ears still perked up, she listened carefully to what he said to Niko. "Oh no..." This couldn't be. Shadow's dead? But how? These thoughts were left in her head, for fear of being scolded for asking so many questions. She felt herself whimper in empathy for the young wolf. She crept closer to him, wanting to give him comfort, but afraid he might shoo her away. So she stayed by his side with her head between her front paws, unsure of what she should do or say. If only Kade were here....he'd know what to do.
