((OoC: As an off note, Happy New Years! For those of you who loved 2009 pop music, check this out! =D DJ Earworm- United State of Pop 2009 (Blame It on the Pop) )) Charlie sniffed the ground, lurking just outside the peace gathering clearing. It was ancient as far as she was concerned; having been here before the wipe-out. Who knows how long it'd been there before that. Cherokee sometimes had a way of knowing these things sometimes. On the same token, he probably cheats and asks those spirits he sees or something. The female was suspicious of that, but it didn't matter much. Her nose caught the scent of death -for once not from her-, and she followed it to find a recently deceased song bird. Its bright plumage seemed to have faded almost, as if it gave up and the pigment collapsed in on itself. Just like her fur. Staring at it with saddened eyes, Charlie nudged it with her nose just the lightest bit. The scent rushed into her sensitive nose, and she pulled back, recoiling from the smell that was constant cloak around her. Needless to say, the familiarity wasn't comforting. Leaving the bird to be either finished off by scavangers or to decompose on its own, Charlie lopped into the clearing, noticed no one was there, then tok her own spot near where Cherokee had sat during the last meeting. She hadn't the chance to see him of yet since the last gathering which she'd left rather suddenly and violently. An almost guilt or embarrassment was imprinted into her because of that moment. She'd growled at t\ Them to stop fighting, and yet she allowed them to anger her into attacking. True, they started it, but she should have more control. Laying down and resting her head in her half rotted paws, Charlie waited and hoped Cherokee would forgive her for her childishness.

Nokida wandered into to grounds her eyes almost closed and her tail hanging low behind her. she looked up to see Charlie, she gave a swift nod before she lay in her usual spot beneath the small bed of rocks on the north side.

Alex stood in the trees above the clearing, the tree beginning to bend slightly with the weight. Looking down, there were only two in the clearing. Muscles in the wolf's build tightened. Alex sat to wait for more wolves as the moon shone brightly, revealing shadows down below.

Tyche sniffed the air catching more wolves and figured it was a gathering of some sort. She moved towards the area swiftly in hopes of finding her target. These could be his friends so she wanted to keep her distance. With any luck she could blend in and he wouldn't even recognize her.
When she got close she noticed Alex and snarled in her direction. The other two wolves she wasn't familiar with, but one stunk of death. A perfect cover. Smirking she walked over to the smelling wolf and bowed her head in a sign of submittance. "Tell me, is this a meeting of sorts? I haven't walked into clan territory have I? I do that all the time." She giggled slightly sounding silly. It was a complete lie. Her tracking skills were unparallel as far as she knew and she wouldn't have done something as suicidal.
And by the smell of the wolves it was apparent they were not family.

Entering with his usual style, Shadow materialized out of the black veil the stone overhang cast over the meeting place. Smirking at the astonished expressions of the wolves who hadn't been expecting it he gave a bored and nonchalant half bob of his head to each of the wolves. Padding over to where Nokida was seated he nuzzled her softly before swatting her playfully with his tail and leaping onto the rock overhang where he usually stayed during these meetings.
lying down he rolled onto his back and let his head hang backwards over the edge to look at Nokida and the other wolves. "Its an odd thing when the loners are at the meeting before the clan Alphas are." He scratched absently before giving a light grin. "It's just as well i suppose, maybe now we can get something accomplished."
He hated these meetings. All anyone ever did was sit around and talk about pointless things and socialize. If he remembered correctly these peace gatherings were supposed to be a way for the clan and loner wolves to check on each other and negotiate peaceful arrangements to benefit one another. But, he supposed those days were over. And none of the Alphas had even bothered to show up, not to mention only one clan wolf had.

Charlie's ears picked up, different coloured eyes opening to see a rather pretty looking female looking down at her. "Tell me, is this a meeting of sorts? I haven't walked into clan territory have I? I do that all the time." This new female smelled peculiar, and yet she regecnized the scent. She'd caught a whiff of it only once, and that was when she'd been with Cherokee after he'd been in a group of a few other wolves. So that is where this female smelled familiar. It was easy to tell, however, that she was not from these areas. Given, few wolves originally were any more.
Her attention was pulled towards a dramatic entrance from the wolf known as Shadow, he sure did know how to draw unneeded attention to himself, that much was for sure. It was rather annoying actually, how much these wolves enjoyed attention. Sure, she enjoyed her own spot of it, and didn't mind flaunting some of her own ability, but come on. Rolling her eyes at the male's entrance, she turned her head back to the female at hand at the moment.
She inspected her with her good eye for a moment before her shoulders rolled in a shrug, "Yeah. Sacred grounds of which clan members and loners can commune and speak freely." She said, her voice monotone. A raspy chuckle escaped her, "Apparently, though, no one believes in peace any more. From the last meeting I was at, it would appear that it's just a place where wolves can rub each other wrong and instigate." She rolled her eyes, knowing that she'd too easily been pulled into that one fight.
Shifting, Charlie's boney paw exposed itself to the female, and she didn't really care much more. The cloaking scent of death was spun around her like a perfume; if it shocked the female, then she should have seen it coming. In the dim ligting, the necklace she'd found glinted in the pale light of the full moon. She'd yet to hand it over to an owner she deemed worthy enough to have it. The two she suspected would be best for the job had gone missing for the time being, and Charlie was hoping for another thing to drag Freya out of the gathering so she could bring it up with the other Alphas.
If they'd even show up that is... It seems as if many wolves had just suddenly disappeared off the face of the earth. They'd probably be back soon. Charlie certainly hoped so; if she were to try and unhinge Freya from power, she'd need more then just the Alphas to help her.

Nokida snareled momentarily before she noticed in was Shadow that had tapped her "well hello love" she said jumping with ease onto the cliff beside shadow laying her body across his and pretending to fall asleep.

Kestrel made her way into the clearing. 'So many memories,'[/i] she thought before entering. At least there were still some of the ones from before. Her eyes skimmed over to Nokida and Shadow, then over to Charlie and another new wolf. And some who weren't.
Making her way over to the two wolves she recegnized from before, Kestrel padded silently up to them. "Well Nokida... looking fine if I do say so myself. Mind cuddling with me?" She asked, her tone teasing as she lay near the two. "You just look so... enticing. Perhaps you'd consider giving up on Shadow and trying a little more your gender." She purred in her ear nudging the soft fur, taking her tease/flirting a bit further. Her tongue flicked out, licking the female's cheek before she pulled away, grinning.
"So, how are you two doing?" She said casually, as if she hadn't just been hitting on Nokida, despite her joking intentions.

Iceflame ran into the Gathering and skidded to a halt, kicking up dirt into the trees. She stood quickly, her toungue hanging out, and in a stance that told everyone that she was excited, dispite last gathering's interrruption. "Greetings everyone!" She noticed a shadow on the ground and looked up. "Hello up there, Demension Wolf! Care to join us?" She didn't wait for an answer. She ran over to Charlie and Tyche. "Greetings! Lovely night, wouldn't you say?" She ran to one of her favorite spots, then sat to wait for others.

Tyche nodded at the older female for the information. She was about to turn away when the paw caught her eye. Her mouth widened shocked before she got control of herself. Besides in her line of work she'd seen worse, although she had a feeling thier was more to it than the paw itself. She was tempted to offer her assistance, but something warned her not to.
She didn't think there was anything to do.
Sitting back she watched the others seeming content. She raised an eyebrow at the female flirting with another, but let it slide. Each to thier own in her book.

Nokida smirked at Kestrel "I dunno Maybe one day Darlin" she said catching on to the females little joke, tho she snuggled closer to Shadow as reassurance "oh I'm not to bad and your self?" she asked lightly as she took a quick glance around the ground to look at the other before she turned back to Kestrel with a slight chuckle.

Grunting slightly as Nokida leapt up and layed across him, Shadow smiled pleasantly while nuzzling her fur. "Hello to you to hun." As the words left his maw he caught the familiar sent of Kestrel entering the clearing and coming over. He grinned at her and Nokida's comments before licking Noki's cheek himself and showing his peculiar half grin. "Sorry kid but this pretty lady's already taken. I'm afraid you'll have to find your own." He chuckled and let his head fall back once more just in time to see Iceflame come skidding in. Smirking he let his voice ring across the clearing to the energetic Alpha. "Well then, Finally an Alpha shows up. I was beginning to think you weren't bothering this month." he kept his expression light so the wolf would know he was joking.
Closing his eyes he relaxed and felt the warmth and heartbeat of Noki laying across him. He hadn't been this happy or relaxed in a long time. Not since the old days. He realized that it was probably odd for the wolves who had attended the last gathering to see him like this now. last time he was here the veil had taken control of him and he was pure evil. He supposed he would have to make some sort of clarifying speech about his previous behavior. After all, he was certain it was rather confusing to see someone who seemed like a bloodthirsty murderer last time you saw him to be joking and lazily snuggling with his mate. Looking at his mate with warm eyes he stretched and settled in. His speech could wait.

Tyche stared at the hyperactive one who'd approach her earlier with a weary gaze. Sure she was going to be polite, but that was a little uncalled for. Besides others reacted better if she acted like a young adult. Smirking she glanced around still cataching no scent of the male.
"So loners are allowed here too. Good I'm looking for someone actually, an uncle of mine named Niko." She smirked. A lie truth be told, but she was sure that no one would know or call her out on it. If they did she could always claim that she was talking about another wolf named Niko or something. It really didn't matter, she was just looking for some recognition.

Kestrel chuckled at Shadow, "Awe, what's wrong, Shadow? Don't think you could wrest her from my irresistable charm?" She teased the male, her mouth opening to allow her tongue to loll playfully. Kestrel was in a great mood, her stomach was full, she felt warm despite the chill in the air, and she felt as if Pandion, her long deseased brother, were with her, grinning. Lavish, however, was no where to be seen, she hoped the weasle would catch up to her soon; she knew what the full moons meant, so she knew where to reach her.
Kestrel's ears flicked towards the loud, energetic entrance of an Alpha, and she grinned, shaking her head slightly. Shadow's remark made her chuckle, as well as the female who eyed te Alpha slightly warily as if the female Alpha were about to tackle her and playfully rip her ear off or something.
"So loners are allowed her too." The female who's name Kestrel knew not spoke up, tentitivly starting a conversation. "Good, I'm looking for someone actually, an uncle of mine named Niko," the female smirked, and something about that smirk made Kestrel somewhat suspicious. She didn't have much reason to be, the female looked genuine. Couldn't hurt though, right?
Like the many tenticles of an octopus, Kestrel reached out with her mind, gently touching the female's thoughts and memories. Luckily for her, she didn't need to dig and risk being found out for poking around; the female's thoughts were out wide and open like a book conveniently opened to the sought for page. According to the female, it was a lie; tough why she would lie Kestrel didn't know, and she wasn't going to risk being found out by digging. Whatever the female's reason, it couldn't be that good if she were lieing about it.
"Really?" She asked, her tone twinged with interest. She got up, giving a nod to Shadow and Nokida in a small farewell as she went over to the death-wolf and this interesting character. A wolf's important information was normally easily found, since it was locked away between conciousness and sub-conciousness, which meant that it was accessible without being caught by the mind being searched through. Tyche was the wolf's name, Kestrel found after a touch of the mind. "He doesn't speak much of any other family." She brought up casually, eyeing Tyche with some suspicion.

Alex made a point of ignoring Tyche. How childish. She still did not see him. How annoying. He was never around when you needed him. Well... except when you didn't want him. She decided to wait for a bit. That Crystal Pack Alpha suddenly ran into the clearing, then surprised her when she called to her. That one looks like the type not observant of her surroundings. guess you can't judge a book by its cover. Hearing Tyche's comment about Niko, she snorted. That wolf had no family. Alex had traveled to many places, several of which both Niko and Aiden have traveled to. She must just be trying to look for him, but of course that was none of her buisness.
She leapt down, landing on her back feet and her front hand/paw. She stood, hearing Kestrel, and chuckled quietly. "At least somebody has sense,"she mumbled. she drew her hood up and went to sit in the shadows beneath a rock.

Cal appeared right off the clearing from the shadows pooled there. He listened to what was going on, slowly slinking in under a bush to watch. He wondered if Niko would be there or not.

Tyche wanted to seriously hurt the female who'd challenged her. Who did she think she was? And Alex that female was asking for it. On the inside she was shaking with fury, but also with excitment. Even if this went wrong she knew one thing. Niko was here. She'd been right.
Now all she had to do was play it out, "Niko's a loner," She could smell pack on the female, "Maybe he doesn't trust you. I haven't seen my uncle since I was a pup, but I know that he has issues with clans." Her statement was true on that point. Niko did have an issue with clans even if it wasn't the way she was stating it.

He perked up at the mention of his companion but kept where he was. he wasn't going to expose himself if no one had noticed him. He kept quiet, his eyes flickering and keeping everyone in his sight.

Tyche the female bristled at both her and the arrival of a new wolf. Kestrel grinned. "Niko's a loner," The black female chuckled, "Aren't we all in our own little way, hun?" She teased her. "Maybe he doesn't trust you. I havn't seen my uncle since I was a pup, but I know that he has issues with clans." Well, at least she knew her informaton pretty down pat. " I used to be a loner, too, you know." She pointed out, slinking down to the ground in a laying position.
